Capstone & Concentrator

Secondary Education Version

INTRODUCTORY COURSE (CONCENTRATOR). The CTE Emergency Dispatch Introductory curriculum is an entry-level training that introduces students to the basic requirements of emergency dispatch. This course introduces the necessary skills and knowledge to work in a law enforcement, fire and/or emergency medical services communication center. Students will have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning/Community Classroom.

ADVANCED COURSE (CAPSTONE). The CTE Emergency Dispatcher Certification curriculum is a Capstone course that builds upon the occupational knowledge and interpersonal skillsets introduced in the CTE Emergency Dispatcher Introductory curriculum. Students continue to develop the necessary interpersonal, academic and technical skills required to work in an emergency communication center as a 911 dispatcher. Students will have the opportunity to participate in work-based learning. Students demonstrating mastery of certification curriculum content will receive a 911 Communication Officer certificate.

Whether developing a new Public Safety pathway, or incorporating new curriculum into an existing sequence, MindFLEX Education can deliver an effective pathway platform solution.
